Project-oriented work

At Kinderkrippe Kolibri, we select an annual theme together as a team. Each group then creates individual projects around this theme, guided by a theme character who plays a central role as a teacher, friend, comforter, and play partner.

For 2024, our theme is the four elements. We explore one element intensively every three months. Currently, the children are focusing on the element of earth, experiencing it with all their senses.

Through targeted activities and free play, we encourage various areas of development such as fine motor skills, language, creativity, role play, gross motor skills, musicality, logical thinking, and social skills. The children bring suitable play materials from home, and we also borrow materials from toy libraries or use items from our collection.

Our daily activities are age-appropriate and designed to stimulate the children’s senses in diverse ways. We integrate seasons and festive traditions such as Räbeliechtli, Christmas, and Easter into our projects to offer the children holistic and playful development.
